I have 2003 34ft Kevlacat powered by 2 225 4 stoke Yamaha OB`S, the Outboards sit on fully enclosed ali pods which sit 4inches obove the bottom of the hull line ( the motor cavitation plate sits level with the bottom of the hull line)I am not happy with the boats performance there is alot of foamy water arrond the lower leg area it dosent make any diff if i trim out or inspeed is the same , i am contemplating extending the pods to match up to the hull shapeto give clean water to the prop area, what are your thoughts ,the latest model has a redsigned pod fitted kevlacat lower and closer to the leg

This may not translate to your cat hull but the factory spec on our GB is to have cavitation plate 1 1/4" above the keel. Some guys raise this a bit or lower depending onm the performance they are trying to get.

What's the factory spec on your boat? And does your engine mount vary from that? It might be worth giving the manufactureer a call and see what they say.

I cant seem to get much info from the maufacturer other than they have a new designed pod on post 2003 models , i am going to try lifting motors one hole higher b4 i go any further (trimed full out causes no cavatation or speed difference at present settings) Cav plate at preent is level with hull line but 4 inches below bottom of pod base seems wrong to me,allows aireated water arround prop area

I suspect that the motors are way too far down. My Tom Cat 255 has a 24" Armstrong Bracket and the engines are in the top holes, cavitation plates running at the surface of the water when on plane--well beyond the bottom of the boat.
