Outdrive Repair

I have a 1991 Sea Ray 185 SX I/O 400 hours I have too much play from right to left in outdrive. I was told that it is likely the pin and connecting shaft. The repair is costly so I thought I would give it a try. Also there is a crack in the lower unit around housing for prop -- the crack has not yet spread to sealed area. Also the lower fin is gone (has not yet compromised sealed area). What do you recommend? Should I consider a rebuilt outdrive?? If so where do I get one cheap? Also -- if I do repair existing outdrive how do I tell if my outdrive is Alpha One vs. Alpha One regeneration two? Thanks
