i heard someone painted the maroon stripe that goes around the 2557 carver. well i painted mine last year but i did something wrong at the end of summer i had to epaint andstill not sure if i did it correctly. i started getting spots. i sanded primed sanded primed painted sanded painted sanded painted sanded. why no shine . do i need a clear coat for my last spray.

It depends on the kind of paint you used for the color. Some paints are designed to be used with a clear coat and some are not. Check with the paint mfg.
