In addition to the barge carrying oil that hit the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge, a barge carrying sand hit the normally open Petaluma River railroad bridge. Again, no spill (not that sand would have mattered all that much unless the barge sank, which it did not) and minimal damage. As the bridge is normally open and hasn't seen trains in a while, I don't expect there's a restriction to navigation--but you may wish to check the appropriate USCG Notices to Mariners.
For those keeping track, The Golden Gate, San Mateo, Dumbarton, both Carquinez and all Oakland Estuary bridges are still collision virgins for the 21st Century. (Bridges farther from the main SF/San Pablo Bays are not counted until Round Two.)
