Nice pics. I never saw clouds quite like that before in th efirst and second picture.

did you go out in the winds and practice docking???

I saw that on the eastward side of the storm there were 35-40+ footers. Imagine that day out on the sea...!

Could not have been too bad if the red flag tows were moving. I'm thankful you guys missed the bid hit.

That barge and tug were anchored, riding out the storm.

I never saw clouds like those either, so I grabbed the camera and took some shots of them.

We had 20 - 50 MPH winds all day, calmed down around sunset. I fully expected to see Bob heading up the river in his bowrider.

Poor Bob, he's under the impression "Size doesn't matter" when we all know it really does.

The women in his life have lied too much and done him a real dis-service.

oh come on... that's not a storm !

THIS is a storm :-)

Sorry guys, I'm winterized. Tucked Annabo in for a long winter's nap this past Sunday. By the way, my wife has told me size doesn't matter. ;)
Cool pictures, though.

Pascal, how come some of those boats have poles sticking out from them?

I think they're called sailboats... it's a neat thing really, they have ropes on those sticks and they use those rope to raise large pieces of fabric called sails. by orienting them a certain way, they can harness the power of wind and more without using an engine.

I've heard about that. I understand when it gets really exciting you travel at speeds in excess of 5 knots. I have also heard it to be likened to standing under a freezing cold shower in your raincoat ripping up one hundred dollar bills and watching them go down the drain. Too much for this old man's heart to take in other than small doses.

What I want to know Mike is what size boat would you take to go out in those waves? The wind wasn't THAT bad!

Ya Mike, you know them things that are all over the place, love to take the right of way even when they are under power...And then at night when they are tied up, clang, clang, clang, thats all you hear in the still of the night.

Ah how I miss them.....

And while we're on the topic of sailboats...what the heck is a sailboat race? The "walker" races at the senior center are quicker and more exciting!

well... yeah and those walker races are certainly more exciting than baseball or golf too...

you must not watched the America's cup ealier this year...

Pascal I heard they have betting booths in the Florida malls they have so many. The only better entertainment is when the gray heads crash through the mall doors on their way to the races.
