Post new or comment on old threads?

As I am searching threads relating to our boat, I want to comment on them for clarification. Question is, do I comment on the thread that is over a year old, or do I post a new thread on the same subject?

I would suggest commenting on an existing thread whenever possible. It will help from an indexing prospective and allow others to find 1 complete thread when searching instead of trying to find answers in multiple similar threads...
