Looks like weather will permit spring preparations soon. Last fall when boat was pulled out I noticed about a 1/2" "shiny" area on port shaft just behind the rear strut (prop is mounted just aft of that). It appears the shaft has moved outward (aft) from the transmission that 1/2", anyway I had never noticed it the previous haulout. The engine mounts show no sign of movement or looseness, therefore I presume the shaft has backed out of the "coupling" behind the transmission, (if that's what it is called?). I figure I'll be out there attempting to correct that soon, maybe this weekend. Are there just "set-screws" spaced around the diameter of the shaft where it slides into the coupling at the transmission? Possibly they worked loose or maybe they are worn and need replaced. I expect to find they are allen-head set-screws but don't know that yet, nor do I know how many there are yet. Anyone have experience with type of adjustment or repair?
