Raritan CH37E Check Valve (for Purasan)

I looked at the Ark law's link that was posted. It appears this affects boats that use their lakes. It's a 2 part law one that seems squarely pointed at boaters to make sure they have an MSD type III with a locking Y valve and the other part is aimed at monitoring the beaches for harmful levels of bacteria. I don't see where it talks about rivers, tidal waters or MSD types.
It's my understanding that federal laws already consider non flowing waters like freshwater lakes to be a no go for any type I or type II treatment systems.
I could be showing some ignorance here not knowing the various bodies of water that boats with heads can use in this state.

You are correct about the law, however the health department expanded their interpretation to included the Arkansas river.

The Arkansas river is navigable and has locks and dam. The health department has included the lakes formed by the dams as falling under their jurisdiction.

My carver 466 aft cabin is located on the Arkansas river in Little Rock. We actually left our dock and completed the great loop, cruised the entire mississippi river, along with the tennessee river, cumberland river and tenn-tom system.

The health department inspectors visit our marina every three years, and insist on inspections, with threats of fines if boats do not have the sanitation decals showing.

I will most likely make the modification as I am also tired of cleaning and replacing the o-rings in the check valve. I plan on printing out BarrenRiver's post where he relates his conversations with raritan regarding modifications and no concern from them as it changing the approved status. The inspectors have seemed to be intelligent and reasonable, with that post, I should be ok.

Thanks all :)

I don't think the mods affect the CG ratings at all....you are not changing the amount of chlorine the system delivers,,,the same amount of water laps the tablets in the canister, just changing the entry point where it enters the Purasan, which now will enter the intake chamber and go thru the macerator motor on to mixer motor on the discharge

Danny,

Why not put some of these upgrades together and sell them to us? I would be interested.

Kurt I have done everything but changing the injection point. I am using 3/8ths barbs on the solution side and I bought a 1 way 3/8th's plastic valve so far it's been almost a month and the solution level is the most constant I have had and by now it would have clogged. I'm leaving it all alone for now. I may try changing the solution injection point if the new 3/8th's feeder and valve act up. I also think the new #41-135 basket and tablets are far superior to the old one piece solution cartridge.
