Here's a Delta service that does fine work. I had work done on the boat during a haul-out late last month and waited until the wooden boat sealed up last week (the final quality test) to post my comments.

I highly recommend Ament Marine Services. I had hull side paint & grooving, bottom paint, a split plank replacement (below water line) and prop replacement done. All work absolutely first-rate. Long-time Delta family business works on all boats with specialized abilities for wood. I saw all kinds of boats there: planked, ply, fiberglass from a CC to a trawler-type cruiser.

Ament has a marine rail for hauling. A cradle supports boats by the keel with blocking to keep it from tipping. Best way to support a heavy wooden boat out of water. The marine rail runs from under the river right into the covered shop.

I'm 100% happy with Ament's work. The boat was bottom painted there four years ago, too. Make plans well in advance for jobs requiring more than several days' work. They can be quite busy and booked well in advance.

Very competitive pricing considering the pride they take in their work.

Ament's Marine Service is located next to Vieira's near Isleton. Info: http://www.sfsailing.com/cgi-bin/mbi/yards.cfm
