Hello all.

So the "replacement" 454s are coming together and I would like a Mercruiser Mechanic to run them for me outside of the boat and check to see if they need anything else before we install them.

Anyone have someone they like and trust to refer me to in the Lauderdale/Pomapno area?

Thanks

Running an engine outside of it's application isn't all that easy. There's the cooling to be concerned with and vibrations and free-wheeling etc. etc. etc. What exactly is it that you're tring to do?

Just want to run them so I can check for leaks (cooling or oil) before they go in the boat where they will be a beatch to work on is all - no worries if I can't swing it in time. Thanks

And as I said above......How do you propose to run any sort of cooling system to the engines without them being in the boat or some other source of water supply?

T- I have flushing kits which I can plug into the water intake tube and connect it to a hose....exhaust just dumps on the ground....etc.

I am SO surprised that in area with literally hundreds of thousands of boats that no-one can recommend a single dock side mechanic to work on Merc Inboards - wow. Has no-one had a positive experience?

Happy Boating All
