Removing bottom paint?

I am buying a 2005 pro-line 23 sport. previous owner painted the bottom even though he kept boat on lift. i will keep on trailer in my driveway. any way to remove bottom paint and get the original gel coat back? should I worry about it or just keep the paint up? Any difference in perfomance, etc.?

Depends on how the bottom was prepped for the paint. If it was sanded, then no. Other methods, maybe.

even with it being sanded, you can get it back. it will just require alot of sanding on your part from something slightly less aggressive then what was use originally, all the way up to wet sanding grits. then you'll need to compound and polish. if the pocket book isnt think enough to have it done, and your not equiped or able to spend that much time on your back, painting with white paint is an option
