"Over the last few months, Restore the Delta has sent out letters summarizing our media and outreach work and our goals moving forward. We seek to protect Delta communities and Delta fisheries for future generations. We are committed to protecting fisheries and the environmental health of the largest estuary on the Pacific Coast of both North and South America. We also work with equal vigor to protect local Delta communities and our agricultural heritage. We seek to unite the urban and rural communities of the Delta in pursuing these goals.
Restore the Delta has also been known for being an organization that makes a lot happen on a shoestring budget. Restore the Delta staff is proud of its frugality. However, during this recent round of the great recession, the shoestring has become a bit threadbare. In fact, presently we could describe the Restore the Delta budget as a few worn threads attached to a metal frame with a worn piece of scotch tape. We need a new shoestring!
During past appeals for donations, we have received many wonderful notes about the work that we have done. Now, we need the donations to match the notes of encouragement that we have received so that we can continue with our communication, education, and outreach efforts on behalf of Delta communities and fisheries.
If you have ever thought about donating, now is the time to make it happen. No amount is too small or too large.

The need for our work, responses to -- the Bay Delta Conservation Plan, the Delta Plan, the threat of the peripheral canal, the threat of our agricultural area becoming solely habitat, thereby reducing our local tax rolls significantly, and legislative schemes to permanently remove water from the Delta - are more than ever are a real assault on the environmental and economic health of the Delta.
