I would like some recommendations on marinas at Rock Hall. We are planning a cruise for 6 boats and would like to find a marina with transient slips and a pool. Thanks

My choice would be Rock Hall Landing. Great new owner, nice slips, Great location and a pool.

The Sailing Emporium is a ritzy marina with amenities, on the other side of Rock Hall Harbor. The facilities and grounds are well maintained. You'll need to dinghy across or use the Rock Hall Trolley to get to the restaurants.

North Point Marina has transient slips, a pool with view of the Ches Bay and motel rooms, and is right on the breakwater as you enter Rock Hall Harbor. Within walking distance of the restaurants.

Osprey Point Marina offers state-of-the-art floating docks on The Haven in Swan Creek. Amenities include an immaculate air-conditioned bathhouse, a swimming pool, picnic areas with charcoal grills, and free use of our bicycles. Enjoy the scenic picnic spots located throughout our 30-acre grounds or play a game of pool in our boater’s lounge in the recently refurbished Farmhouse. We welcome transient boaters throughout the season.

Rock Hall Landing as PMT above suggested is located in the Heart of Rock Hall Harbor. A great marina with clean modern bath house, pool and bicycles. Within stumbling distance of Watermans Restaurant. A respectable place with reasonable rates.

You can't go wrong with any marinas previously mentioned. We usually stay at North Point marina (best view of the bay) but Rock Hall Landing will have you just blocks from downtown RH (all one block of it) and Haven Harbor is top-notch in service with a 20 minute walk downtown. The local trolley goes to all marinas in the area.

The Sailing Emporium has the nicest, cleanest, showerhouse in Rock Hall...maybe the Eastern Shore.

Dinghy to restaurants across the harbor or take the trolley.

If flowers and landscaping is your thing TSE is tops.

Just a slip owner...

I know a couple of years ago; Sailing Emporium stopped taking transient powerboats. They wanted to concentrate of blow boats only.

Try them all, the are all very nice, each with different features. I don't know which I would recommend first, but which ever you choose, you will probably like. Also, consider anchoring out in Swan Creek. Also, very nice.

Rock Hall Landing is certainly run by some of the nicest people on the Bay. And you're not only next to Waterman's restaurant, but within walking distance of just about everything else.

Haven Harbor is probably a step up marina-wise, but a little further out of town on the other side. HOWEVER, the trolley does run all over the place, so getting a cheap ride is easy.

As others have said, it's hard to find a bad marina in Rock Hall. It's a very nice town. You should have a good time.

Both have pools and some darn nice bath-houses, if you need them.

You can check out this link for more information on the town and facilities:

Have fun!

Easter, again you can't go wrong with any of the marinas there. But, be sure to check your charts if you enter RH harbor! We're at North Point and every weekend someone tries to avoid the channel markers and runs aground. July 4th is the best for this. When entering the harbor, you HAVE to go straight to Rock Hall Landing (only floating docks in harbor) or turn to Port and run the perimeter around. If you go to Starboard, you gonna get stuck. If you turn to Port and cut the markers even by a couple of feet, you're going to be the entertainment for us to watch. Maybe if you're small, have an OB or I/O and it's high tide, you may get away with it.
We watched a fairly good sized sailboat last year (40'+/-) take a shortcut and got stuck. Watched this poor guy in a dink with only oars tying off to the day marker, put out a kedge and row around the boat for a couple hours. I figured he'd stroke out. Also if you go into Swan Creek, watch your charts there too. Seen some boats having to be towed off.
If you're going to stay, I vote for North Point. For a couple days only, I'd vote for Rock Hall Landing. They are closer to the action. Disclaimer: Never stayed at any other marinas then those two.
Regardless, nice sleepy town. Love it!
Luck
Chris

Chris,

We will be in North Point for the 4th of July.
What dock are you on? Of course I won't know where I will be until we arrive. Last time we were on the A dock "T" head (in front of the pavilion).

Cteam,
We will not be there this year. No room at the inn. Did you like the little fire that was created by the wayward fireworks last year? We are going to miss the place. Maybe we can come back as a transient. The only problem we had with the place last year was not taking the boat out enough. Rock Hall is such a good destination, we were already there. Spent most of the boating time in the dink. Oh well....
