Sac County New Ordinence

I'm with you, manticore999. I hope they enforce it, including those who squat in Steamboat, The Meadows, and Lost Slough. Too many out there not following the existing laws...will one more make a difference? Maybe it'll draw enough attention to the problem to start the process toward change we can really believe in!!

Correct me if I'm wrong here but I think a person or group can bring a lawsuit on the county DA if they do not or are not willing to enforce a law on their books. Now that there is one I don't think it would take much to prompt the county DA to go after the squatters if enough complaints were voiced.

Gnarly---you make a good point. And many people making a similar complaint would get somebody's attention. I think the Sheriff's office is in charge of enforcement. I'd start there.

Al, I believe, but may be wrong, that the Meadows and Lost Slough now fall under the state Dept of Parks and Recreation. That area is now a regional park, right?

Edited: yup, I looked it up on the CA P & R website. Day use boating and no camping are listed. There is a number one can call to complain, too. http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=492
