sacramento bayliner club?

Another club is the delta bayliner club. It will show up in a google search.

Rubray, I notice you have a 3488. May I ask what year/motors? I am currently looking at a couple 2001 and 2002's w/ Diesels here on the east coast. Just looking for any advice on things to keep an eye out for. Thanks, Joe.

Aaaahhh, but the Sacramento Bayliner Club (SBC) is such a classier organization. They must be, I used to be the Commodore [}}:-|>>]

Seriously though, SBC is a fun group that has incredibly good participation at their monthly cruise out events. It is unusual to see less than 70% of the club in attendance at an event. That kind of camaraderie and commitment, make it a pretty good club.

The Delta Bayliner Club used to be much larger than SBC; I'm not sure of their size now. They have a lot of great people in their club, but their monthly events seem to be poorly attended over the last few years.

Joining any yacht club is a good experience which will encourage you to use your boat more and expand your boating knowledge. Check out the ones in your area and go with them as a guest several times before making a commitment to any of them. It is very important that your personality and style mesh well with the other members. Please feel free to contact me, if I can provide any additional info on SBC.

Gee Dave, its been over 3 yrs since I moved east, but I remember the delta club as really active. They actually used thier boats in the winter and had all sorts of activities. Their poor brethern that you controlled were stuck with the usual, but not insurmountable problem of doing things in or around the Sacramento river. We kept boats at Folsom Lake and down near Stockton.
We were members of the Capital City yacht club, and it used to be fun to convince the sacramento boaters to get out of their routine of rafting on the American River and come on down to the delta. In many cases it was a life changing experience that opened their eyes to the unlimited possiblites down in the delta. True, we had an hour car ride from Roseville to Stockton, but once there we had so much more to do. Maybe the cost of fuel has chaned the equation so that staying closer to home is the only monetary possibility. That issue would probably affecting the whole delta boating experience.
