With the looks of Hanna and maybe Ike, I'm starting to think about the conditions of the Sassafras river during Isabel. I was in Summit North marina during Isabel and the tide was high but we survived. Didn't have power at home for a week but that was another story.
We are in Georgetown Marina now and it looks like Hanna is supposed to pass to the west (still early). Which means the NE quardrant is going to blow water up the Chesapeake bay. Curious as to the tides during Isabel in this area. Anyone in the marinas during this time to chime in? Rock Hall and the Northeast river are firmly planted in my memory.
I know it's early, just trying to prepare. Thoughts?
(I can only imagine how you guys down south deal with this crap! Isabel was nothing when it hit here but oh the problems and damage)
Many thanks!
Chris

Yep, I was on "C Dock" at Skipjack for Isabel. The water was waist deep on the docks, electricity was out throughout the Georgetown area for about a week. They found Skipjack's Ice Machine floating about a mile up river. Although Izzy was not really a wind event it did take down a lot of trees that blocked the drive to Skipjack. I've got pictures somewhere. If I can find them I'll post them.

I have shots of my dock on Marley creek and all you see is my boat and the top half of a street light on a pole next to it. My jetski was on it's lift and i did a stupid move by tieing it on. My brother had to take a canoe out and cut the rope befor it went under. We found it floating the next day across the creek. His house is down the creek from my pier, the finished basement had water 5 feet deep. His sons fish were in a tank in his room and they escaped once the water got that high. We took my brothers pontoon boat out the morning after Isabel and checked the damage around the creek. Our favorite bar sits low and the back wall caved in from the waves. The guy that runs Glen Burnie Marina took all the plugs out of the boats that were on lifts and they all sank. Your not the only one watching Hanna....

I remember seeing pix of Kent Narrows right after Isabelle - the only thing you could see were the roof tops of the restaurants.

We had our boat in Rock Hall. It survived without a scratch!
