have a complete new septic system on the way.
Seaera which I am going to run fresh water to. new holding tank and 28 foot of sealand 9.29 per foot hose ( WOW ). Going to get rig of the overboad plumbing since my boat isnt going ocean bound. Any tricks or hints you masters of "the Head" would like to send my way ?

Is the SeaEra head the fresh water version? Does it have an "F" in the model number?

Make sure you buy the recommended in-line strainer for the fresh water flush. I went without it for a few weeks and had the head over-flow with (thank goodness) fresh water. I have the strainer in-line now and no more problems!

Install the flush button in a place where it's easy to reach while either standing or sitting. Prefferably where you don't have to bend over the toilet to flush.

Looks like I screwed up.. I got the raw water version.. I guess it will be ok. I'm on a very clean lake the water is nice anyway and will aid in the biotics I suppose.

Got the new clean tank and new fexabe pvc hose and new head al installed.. That was a fun job. The od tank had gore all over it.. Nice.. I threw it in a wagon and wheeled it to the pump out to get rid of the last.. I'm thinking of bringing it to the next big sporting event I go to.. Really clears a wide path

I purchased and installed a new SeaEra fresh water model about a month ago. I have been very satisfied with it and its operation!

What I want to know is how have you guys gotten the fittings in these sealand odorproof hoses? I had to sand down my fittings and pound the crap out of them as well as turn counter clockwise until my hand where raw. I still dont have them in as far as I'd like. I think they will hold but man what a bear.

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the hose end. They go on easily after being heated up. I also use a little dish soap to lubricate them.

Also, SeaLand has their own special fittings that are just for that hose. They don't have hose barbs on them; the part that goes inside the hose is smooth.
