Seaside Restaurants

Folks,
Just started dating a woman up near Tarrytown. Looking for a nice seaside dinner...no boat, I'll leave that in Shinnecock. Anyway, just went to Striped Bass...seemed apropos. Was ok...I'm sure there's much more with a better view...
Thoughts?

Sea Side on the Hudson? Hmm. Well anyway we always liked the food at Liberty House at Liberty Landing. The Striped Bass always worked as well. Once way North consider the places in Newburgh. Torches was overrated but there are several other places along the waterfront that a good meal can be had at.
 
Haverstraw has excellent views as well. I only went once this year Food Is a little overpriced but not bad.
 
Sunset Cove. Tarrytown...any comments?

We ate lunch at Sunset Cove this past summer, I thought it was overpriced and the food was mediocre.
 
yea, looking at the menu, seems pretty ordinary. I did like the striped bass imperial at SB but the view was negligible. Harvest seems nice.

I think Havestraw's a bit north...
 
Haverstraw is across the river, about 10 miles north.
 
Not far from Tarrytown.....is Dobbs Ferry. There WAS a resturant there called Rudy’s Beau Rivage ( we had our wedding reception there....way back ) the food then was excellent ....but best was the view of the Hudson. Today the place is called Windows on the Hudson......not sure about the food...or if its still a resturant or just cattering hall ?......but the views will be breathtaking.......may be worth a call.

Looks like that just a special event place...

I will check into Haverstraw...thought it was further up....

I agree with Mike. The best restaurant in the are is Harvest. There is also a place on the water I believe it's in Tarrytown that used to be a Charthouse. I've eaten there a couple of times over the years and thought it was pretty good.

That would be "The Half Moon" in Dobbs Ferry...used to be the chart house. I hear it is owned by the owners of "Harvest on Hudson".

You can sit outside and it has a very nice view.
