I have a question regarding vertical clearance for all that have transited the Shinnecock Canal. I have a sportfish type boat with a flybridge and a hardtop. My radar, VHF antennas and masthead/anchor light all extend above the hardtop and I was wondering the maximum height that can safely pass under the fixed bridges. I ask also because I'm looking at moving up in size and the boat I'm looking at is berthed in Riverhead and I would be taking it back to the Lindenhurst/West Babylon area and would like to use the canal.
