After the 2006 season, we moved from Baltimore back home to Pittsburgh to be closer to my folks, and made the decision to put the "Impulsive Adventurer" up for sale. Then the economy tanked. After three seasons of watching the boat sit, I'd had enough.
So, this year we sucked it up, put new canvas and upholstery on her and had some work done on the drive and splashed her. Long weekends and a couple weeks worth of vacation more than made up for the cost spent in getting her back in fashion.
And since it was only our second season on the water (I was a newbie when I bought the boat in '06), this was a re-learning experience in a lot of ways. Many short trips around the Middle River region, with a couple trips to Baltimore, and a memorable late afternoon ride over to Fairlee Creek.
My friends at home wondered why I didn't transport the boat to Pittsburgh. On my first trip out of Middle River, I wish I could have had them with me so they could see the obvious answer.
It's been a good season, and we're hoping to squeeze a couple more weekend trips in. We'll be back in the spring. Thanks for all the great stories on here. They keep the fire burning when we can't be on board.
Be safe!
Aaron
