"Dear LA Area Friends,
The Los Angeles Board of Supervisors will be voting on a proposal by Supervisor Don Knabe as to whether they should endorse the Bay Delta Conservation Plan. We are asking our LA area supporters to let your County Supervisors know that there is strong opposition to the BDCP and the proposal to build peripheral tunnels to divert the Sacramento River.
Let them know that a decision by them to endorse this project is untimely as the Environmental Impact Report has yet to be released. In addition, the State has failed to produce a cost-benefit analysis. All independent analyses indicate that Southern California rate payers will be left to pay a disproportionate share for the project, with Westlands Water District and Kern County water agency receiving the majority of the benefits. Southern California will not receive any additional/new water from the project.
Please take action today. If you do not know who your supervisor is, you can Google the information or call us at 209-475-9550.
Yours in service,
Barbara Barrigan-Parrilla
