I plan to go up there this weekend to check out the progress. I agree most marinas will rebuild but I doubt they will all finish by Spring.

Let us know how deep they have dredged...

At the current pace, you guys are on track for 14 pages prior to spring launch.

We gotta do something while the boats are out of the water...

While I did not see any dredging going on I was surprised to see G dock looking like they are making headway! It was sad to see the damage to so many boats. Still a few boats under water too.

Sweetness I feel your pain, I looked at your boat today. I didn't have to get out of my care to see why it was totaled it's a shame it was a great looking boat!

I wanted to be a part of page six so here it is!

LOL I figured you would at least add a new word for everyone to go off on a tangent.
Page 7 is still a long way off.

SPBM and Patsy's can dredge to 30 feet but it won't make a difference if the channel out to deep water is less than 3 feet at low tide as it is now. My drive clunked on something last summer out there and I only draw 30 inches. The larger boats will still have to plan their trips with a tide chart.

You must have missed my post about dredging so I brought it up again. Why would anyone dredge a marina if you still couldn't get there at low tide. I didn't hear anyone disagreeing with that. In Florida when they dredge they dump the mud to either side just outside the markers. Don't know why they can't do that here.

I would presume that any dredging of the marina would include the channel.

It was people from SPBM that posted that Wayne was going to dredge and turn it into a first class marina.

MYC is planning to dredge, they will dredge their channel which goes past PBM.

So wait a minute, SPBM didn't dredge? But If G docks main dock is almost back together that would mean dredging is complete, correct?

MYC is the nicest of all the marinas up there, as you know nice and protected. I would go there if they has a pool.

If we were to go back up river, MYC would be our first choice. We aren't pool people so that wouldn't hold us back.

They are truly a first class operation that seems to give a damn unlike some other places in the area.

It is a very nice marina. I have friends in there. The only issue with the place is that it is super quiet. I have been there on the weekends and it wa like a ghost town. Socialization is a big part of boating for me and that does not seem to be the norm there.

They just need someone like you Hank to get the ball rolling.

I have definately considered there more then once. I'm not a pool person either but I have to say, it's great having the restaurant to walk to for a quick bite to eat.

I have nothing negative to say about most of the marinas in the area MYC was on my list and may be again in a few years. I think of it like a 55 and older marina not the best place for kids and that's just great if that's what you are looking for, I have a few years before I'm ready to move there. It's seems well maintained and good docks good protection and deep water these are few are far between qualities in our area!

You better get on their waiting list now, it's a couple year wait for over 40'

I have always heard about the waiting list but several big boats from my old marina were able to get slips there last year with no problem. Maybe different since Sandy though. You also still have to get out through the channel. I know marina is deep water but how about entering and exiting?

The rebuilding begins.
I think, Ken from SPBM said that the main G dock is back together and his slip is ready. If Wayne was going to remove mud from the bottom, would't it be done without docks in the way ?
Its possible that he has a different way of doing it, but now is the time, this winter.

Hank, their channel is dredged, they are redredging it this year.
