During "Irene" some of the docks at our marina broke loose and our boat, along with 2 others, made an 11 mile trip up Lake Champlain.

Somewhere along the way my bow struck an an immovable object. Bent the anchor, which can be easily replaced. But also bent the starboard upright to the bow pulpit rail.

My question...Is this a custom piece or is something like this commercially available?

Unless you can find that exact boat in a junk yard you are looking a custom. If you find the right guy this will not break the bank. I had some work done recently and it came out OK I think if he didn't feel rushed it would look great. Did you make an insurance claim? They may cover most of the cost. BoatUS was great about it.

Insurance company says send them an estimate and if it looks reasonable they'll cut the check.

Now I just have to find someone to look at it. The boat is at the southern tip of Lake Champlain in Whitehall, NY.

Speak to the yard I'm sure they know someone try to get a couple of estimates if you can I got three, two of them did not impress me

Drifted by itself 11 miles?? Wow, I'm amazed that's the only damage. Sounds like incredible luck to me.

We consider ourselves extremely lucky. We had been at the boat the day before the storm and put double lines on it and when found it was still tied securely to the dock.

Ironically the power pole was still on the dock and our shore power cord still plugged into it and the boat.

When then is least you still had power to charge the battery for the bilge pump:)
Actually that is pretty impressive. Do you have any pictures of how is was found? It must have been a sight.

That is crazy, so the dock went with it? Pictures would be interesting to see. Good to hear that was your only damage!

No pics of where it ended up...I need to get those from the marina owner.

Here's how it looked 2 weeks ago along with the other 2 boats that made the "trip" From what I am told it broke free at the shore side of the section showing that has the power pole on it and everything went together.

When I left the boat the day before the storm, all lines had been doubled and all 4 fenders were on the starboard side.

Here's a shot showing where the dock SHOULD be...
