A friend who has moved to Florida from up North has never been to the Bahamas has asked me to make the trip to Bimini on his 32 ft Cape Dory.
Boat is in good shape, single Diesel inboard, sufficient fuel capacity.
I have made the trip on my boat several times so I know the drill.
According to the NWS Marine Forecast,Thurs AM or Fri AM would be a good time to go. Any comments on Weather or Sea conditions welcomed.
Purpose of trip is mainly fishing and diving.

We will be heading across first thing Friday morning from Key Largo. Looks like it should be 2 foot or less. We have reservations at Cat, but may be changing them to Bimini.

It should be a fairly smooth crossing with southeast winds.

In May we left Key Largo at 7:30am and got to Bimini Bay after fueling at Blue Water at 11:30AM.

You should be fine if the weather does not change.

Ken,
We will watch for you, have a great time.
How long are you planning on staying.?

last minute change, decided to take the Rock & Roll, More room to sleep and A.C.
Left Hillsboro Inlet Fri 5 AM, Did some trolling on way over. Arrived at Bluewater 9 AM.
Seas were 2/3 feet w/ SE wind. Nice trip over.
My friend had a great time, couldn't get over the water clarity. Caught fish, snorkeled at Honeymoon Harbor,Partied in Alice Town, All around good time.
Had breakfast at Capt Bob's on Sunday and left Bimini at 10 AM. 2 3/4 hrs back to Hillsboro.(all the way on auto pilot)Seas were 2 ft or less with clear skies until we reached Pompano. Got a drenching 1/2 mile off the inlet. Boat got a good wash down with that rain.

great to see you using the boat JMAS - but this thread is useless without pictures ;-)
