I think the original thread about this got lost in the transition. I just checked it out for possible use on the new boat. Hardware is $499, S&H another $50 and CA tax another $30+. Monthly service is $90. Not yet available in my area...but they're happy to take my money now because it will have limited availability and it's first come/firs serve. Evidently the dish is portable and it tracks the satellite as needed.

Sounds great. I read that it is assigned to particular satellite but the FAQs don't say how it can be reassigned if it is moved nor does it say how large an area the original assignment covers.

I haven't looked, but I suspect that even the "first adopter" pricing beats the available options. But as I say, I haven't checked it out.

But if it works ( not yet, but soon ) speeds and latency aboard should be quite attractive.

And "everyone" believes the prices will go down...
