The engine I am guinea piggin' with is an '85, 150 hp, Mercury. I can get the engine started and runnin fine with the engine lead wires reversed. Which is already damaging my rectifier. When I connect the leads to the proper terminals I can hear the starter spinning, but it will not engage. Any info is very appreciated.
