Took the boat out yesterday for one of our less frequent days on the water due to high fuel costs. Beautiful day, a little hazy and a constant 15 mph wind gusting to 20. Went from Jersey City to Piermont, NY, and anchored between the old pier and the Tappan Zee bridge. Thought about swimming, but the wind and current made us opt for dangling our legs in the water off the swim platform instead. Admiral prepared a fabulous dinner- lamb chops, brown rice with onions and mushrooms, string beans, cheese and crackers, and a glass of cranberry juice. It was just so good to be out there. I'm going to have to find a way to afford boating in the future. I was thinking about the gas it cost us just for this short trip, but figured that the cost of an upscale restaurant and two therapy sessions the Admiral and I will not need, puts us ahead. Being out on the water has always been our therapy anyway. I hope the rest of you will still find a way to get out there occasionally. It is surely worth it.
