So figure I will pass this on.
So the object I hit was at low tide.
About 3.5' of water.
Located at the red spot.
I went to blue spot.
Hit nothing coming in.
Hit it going out.
I was on west side of the canal hugging the boats, which is what I was told.
I think it is a submerged piling.

Lesson learned, if your gut tells you its too shallow and chart plotters shows no depths down there, then don't listen to your friend who says it is fine, especially when his boat is a OUTBOARD!

No, the white house with the flat roof is further west, just before Tanner Park.

Had a similar experience yesterday at dead low, we were heading back from a perfect day and I decided to take the Merrick cut from the state channel back to Freeport (knew in my gut it was a bad idea). Ironically, we just got done looking at a 33'+ Cruisers Express sitting high and dry on the south side of the cut when all of a sudden, on plane, my single i/o came to a grinding halt. I assume I caught the edge of the channel, but I was definitely in the channel. No damage, except for my pride, but at least my props are polished :)

Hope your damage was minimal, crossing my fingers for you.

is that the canal with the white square house on the point?

No......that is my canal......this was 2 canals east of that.

ok, got it. Friend just moved onto that canal and i bumped once a few weeks ago visiting at dead low.

Bumping in mud is ok, but there is something down there hard.
Like I said, lesson learned. Props needed a good recon anyway!

Thanks for the heads up. I'm up the next canal west of that one. I don't go around Indian Island too often. But there is also another bad shallow spot back somewhere behind the northeast section of the island.
I think I'll just avoid the area for the rest of the season.
