Suggestions for Overnight trip on Delta

If you use the ramp at Tower Park, have the tractor launch you. Tiki's ramp is bad, but not as bad as H&H IMO. B&W is a safe bet with good access to the Meadows and other areas.

North of Mandeville is Franks tract (go around it).

Actually Franks Tract is south of Mandeville Island. Old River goes from Franks to the Deep Water Channel between Webb tract [west] and Mandeville [east].

Are there any good spots between Buckley and Tower park to drop anchor or beach for the night?

Yes! Go down the Channel to Disappointment Slu and hang a right. There are probably hundreds of nice places to anchor overnight. I haven't been there for a few years, so maybe someone else can provide more detail then I.

I went through there last weekend. For the most part it looked pretty clear of weeds in between the islands.

Hey Flutterby,

While I've got you, any good boat clubs near Stockton that might be looking for members?

Well, I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Paradise Point Marina and the Breadfruit Tree restaurant. They specialize in Caribbean Cuisine, and I've found the food to be wonderful. They are located at the intersection of Disappointment Slough and Bishop Cut. (Their reggae festival is Aug. 25--always a huge crowd--but things are quieter otherwise.)

As for Tower Point, last time I was there they did have showers (coin-op) close to the docks, but the showers down in the campground were free, cleaner, more spacious, and better lit--well worth the walk. I have heard that the previous "separate ownership" of the marina and campground has ended and they are again jointly owned, so my info may well be out-of-date.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I've got plenty of places to check out. This weekend Snodgrass, next weekend Margarita mile! See you on the water. If I catch anyone at Wimpy's this weekend I'll buy 'em a beer!

Had a great trip this weekend! Ended up launching from Buckley Cove. Great place to launch! Safe, easy, lots of room, etc. Cruised thru Disapointment Slough, and ended up taking a trip to Antioch. My wife and I decided to see as much country as we could. Went to Driftwood Yacht Club for drinks and dinner (My wife used to be treasurer). The Over and Under race (?) was Saturday, and the contestants stayed there overnight. We did as well. Also, checked out the Sportsman's Yacht Club (Interesting place). But basically, we scrapped our original plans of Wimpy's, the Meadows, etc., and had a blast!
