Last night we left Haverstraw about 10:30 pm...(retired folks can do that on a Sunday night). We headed north on 9W towards Bear Mtn. As we're driving, we start to see huge bursts of fireworks from across the river (10:45 PM). We pull over to the side of the road and watch a spectacular fireworks display that was far better than the Haverstraw show on July 3rd. The show went on until about 11:20 pm with a marvelous finale. Now, we're wondering, why such a spectacular display, on a Sunday night at 10:45 pm? The show seemed to be originating from just south of Indian Point (possibly south of the dirt factory too)...Peekskill?
