I'm looking for a surveyor in the Rock Hall vacinity.
Has anyone used Fred Wise or know anything about him?
 
Yes, I've used him. Nice guy, very thorough and I think reasonable. Gives a nice printed copy of your survey results. Let me know if you need specifics.

I received your email but haven't had an opportunity to respond. FYI, another RO here, arks1 (Rob) has used Lon and was very pleased as well but I haven't seen him post here for several weeks.

Yes, I hired Lon Acheson in '04 to survey a Silverton on Kent Island that I was hot for.

Fortunately (for me), Lon did a thorough job and found a number of serious deficiencies that I had completely missed. I was present for the entire dry survey. Long story short, I didn't buy the boat but to this day I thank Lon for the good job, allowing me to avoid a LOT of frustration and future problems.

As a side note, I was so impressed with Lon that 7 or 8 months later I contacted him again and invited him to survey another boat for me- this time over 400 miles away. I offered to pay his travel time but he was busy in Florida doing insurance surveys after a big storm.
Bottom line, he's an A+ surveyor.

Thanks for the info. It's good to know I have a couple options for a surveyor.
