I can't believe I initiated a thread on April 20th and repeated it a week later. I apologize to the group.

The good news is I am back down to the "single" doses of oxycodone and morphine until the next surgery in May. At that point I think I will hide my laptop until I am off the meds.

I really do appreciate your patience. I have not been able to breathe well the last few nights, so I am sleepy as well as drugged up. :(

I will quietly exit stage left......Dave

Dave, we do not want you to disappear, even for a day!!!!! We do want you to keep getting stronger each and every day.

Besides this forum has been so quiet lately, we can always use your traffic! LOL

Dave,

I'm kind of new here, but not to boating. It sounds like you're not havine much fun with the mouth work -OUCH! I saw your other post about Bayliners - I have 2 - an 05 27 foot that is fast and beautifull, and a classic 81 3270. The 3270 is 27 years old, and an amazingly solid boat - They both are great! I have become a bayliner fan.

You were looking for a small whaler type also, and I have a great toy like that. Back in the mid 90's Sea Doo built a rigid bottom inflatable with a jet ski in the middle. It's about 15 feet, a full glass hull, and it had an 85 HP Rotax - 2 cycle unfortunatly, but it is a blast. It seats up to 5, runs in the mid 40's, and can easily be lifted on davits on your 44. Pretty cool and fun toy, with a very dry ride. When you surf the web, they are called an Sea Doo Explorer, and made from 95-97, I think.

I'm at Oxbow, so maybe the next time I'm buzzing around in it, I'll swing by and take you for a ride.

Good luck with the mouth work, hang in there!

Jim

Thank you.

You know life is slowing down when they toss you off the organ donor list.

Flutterby, hey, are we ever going to do a raft up again? With the cost of diesel, we may wind up tent camping on the docks....:)

Jim, I was very active before a series of car wrecks (rear ended twice). I am now disabled & might try being a door stop for WalMart. "Greeter" requires too much training.

My wife wanted a Sea-Doo. With 2 bad knees. I told her we would be better off with a center console dinghy. Then we saw the rig you are talking about...it was "jet boat" and I was in love. Then the better educated folks here told me the jet boats can get mud sucked up in them or something like that. Hmmm. OK, then we looked at Boston Whalers. Flat bottom would beat my bad back up. Rats.... OK, how about a Trophy? A Triumph. But finding a 4 stroke engine is hard. We would love to take our boat to Lake Tahoe, etc. Hence 4 stroke.

I can only drive our boat at certain times. In fact, I only drive the car when I have not taken my Morphine for the day. So I go where I have to go, do what I need to do, then come home and take my meds.

If we had a raft up I would leave early, get there, set up and then take my meds. And no, they don't make me high. Drugs suck.

As for boats. I think a 1703 would be GREAT.
I would need a Bimini Top because of skin cancer. I had 3 cut off a couple of months ago.
I have several other problems I have to be careful of...sleep on a ventilator, etc.

BUT...CraigsList had this 1703 I think it was...
as for your jet boat, sounds like fun. We are in R-12 at WB ... when we are there. Love to see you and your boat....Dave

I'm not into tent camping, but hanging at the dock can be lots of fun----especially if the wind is screaming through the delta! Take care!

DLL,
Last weekend I got to go for a ride in a 17 ft Boston Whaler, a true classic! It was amid 80's, like new condition with the wood trim around everywhere and a new, 4 stroke 90 hp. It booked! We ran from Oxbow to Willow Berm to visit a few friends and it was just plain fun. I think we were in the 55 mph range, and the boat was amazingly smooth and comfortable. I can see why they are so popular. And yes, the jets can suck mud, but if you were in that same water depth with an outboard, you wouldn't be doing too well either!

Hang in there. One of these days, we can have a cold one together -

Jim
