The Water Club, Haverstraw's new restaurant, is officially open, albeit without its liquor license at this time. I do not know when that will happen.

Congrats but I have to say is this another "here we go again" in regards to the liquor license.

BTW - I was there today and it still seems like work is still being done. For example the glass guys were removing windows for some reason....

Hope they have their license by July 12th...that's a very important date!

Hey thats great, another place to eat for us boaters.

Has anyone tried the shuttle to the Bricktown Brewery yet. You just call them up and they send a shuttle to the marina to pick up your group. Eat, Drink and no worries about driving back to the marina. They bring you back as well and no charge. I had a group from work at the boat the other day and after our very short cruise we decided to try the shuttle. The food was great as well. If anyone wants to try them...429-0111

Thats one good thing about this area, we have pleny of places to eat.

Now as far as the 12th goes, I guess we will see the famous group Hush again....

Are they allowing you to bring your own booze?

That is great that Bricktown has a shuttle to go along with their great, reasonalby priced food.

Where are these places exactly your talking about ? Last time i worked in haverstraw someone borrowed my compressor without returing it , gave my excavator a new graffiti paint job and was kind enough to break the windows so i'd stay cool in the heat, kinda reminded me of a few blocks up the hill in newburgh the last time i was there, that was 2 years ago, has it got better lately. ---Jon---

Jon, the water club is the Haverstraw Marina resturant. Bricktown Brewery is on the corner of Main and Broadway. Thats the nice thing about the shuttle. You dont have to worry about your car. Door to Boat service.

Hey this is nice, sitting on the boat, drinking coffee and using WIFI. Now this is the life. Bad thing is have to leave it to go to work.

That's for sure Butch. It gets even better when you put in a high powered router and antenna. It used to be our signal waffled in and out.
Now it's rock solid.

Maybe if I was an elected official at the marina it might have helped...;)

So far we have had steady signal. Then to we are not that far from the router. Solid and fast. Guess we will see how it is this weekend with storms.

Its nice being able to check the email once in awhile when we are on the boat. Even better we can check on the board and throw our 2 cents worth in. Now if I could only due this 7 days a week now.

Sure sounds like the "life" Gov, more power to ya ,enjoy. that shuttle sounds like a great idea.
Seems like any bodies guess on the wacky weather with all the scattered t-storms poping up around here & there, lets hope we get a break this weekend

Yes, but they have shot the fireworks off up here in Kgn, during a down pour!

Hey John,

What do you mean...?

I don't think they will have a problem getting a liquor licence. I think it is just a matter of paper work.

The could not apply for the LL until they got the CO on the building and that was only a week and a half ago..

I am willing to bet that they will be fully operational by the July 4th. weekend.

Hey Randy.. What is the name of your band again?

Unfortunately, on the weekend of July 12th. there will be approx 19 boats from Haverstraw Marina going to Belmar and the people that are going are the people that would definitely be at the bar on Fri. and Sat. nights. They are the "Locals" for lack of a better term.. and have been waiting ever so patiently for the restaurant to open.

**EDIT** Randy, I just looked at your website and it says you guys are playing in Suffern on July 12th. not Havertsraw...

Hey Leigh - If the restaurant opens then Blue dock might be quiet again...........

WiFi at PennyBridge? Is that new to this year?

So the restaurant is open! YAY! Tried to find a menu but not on line yet. I really hope it's better than the last few years! Geez, 8 years ago we used to spend way too much money eating way too often in that restaurant. Then they tried to go too high end - too expensive with a teenage staff no less. I really, really really hope it goes back to the "good old days". Not real cheap, but reasonable, not over the top, ...great food & service and the beer was always ice cold!!!!

I hope you're right Leigh but if you recall they kept promising a liquor license for the temporary restaurant and Tiki bar and it never happened.

Yes Judy, Once we found out you where not going to grace us with your company we decided we needed something to keep us busy.

Hmmm, guess I am going to sneak over there and disturb your computer time.

Dan, Bowline has as well. One year way back when they used to run with the flare to set them off we had a lousy rain just as they were set to go off. They decided to set them off anyhow. You could see the guy running and lighting them. Problem was more of them went off on the ground than in the air.
Must say it was quite a show...

Hopefully weather holds so the Bear Mountain fireworks go off tonight.
