Today Coastside might have made a difference for the South Central region that got run over by a Mack truck in the last round of the MLPA.
We have been working, or I should say Dan and Ben have been working on providing more access for our brothers to the south.
I would be less than honest if I didn't give Ben Sleeter most if not all the credit with input from Harold Davis, and Dan Wolford.
Ben worked on an option that would open up some acreage in this region along with providing the necessary back ground information to the commission.
This project started several weeks ago in consultation with Tom Raftican of UASC. It was Tom that presented the option to the commission today along with his personal plea for help to these fisherman.
The end result was a yes vote by Rogers, and Kellogg, with the new guy not voting because of lack of knowledge on the issue.
The new options will be now up for a vote in April. What this means is were there was no chance, suddenly the patient is back on a respirator with the outcome now up for grabs.

We need to get Dan Wolford appointed to the PFMC. Otherwise we will be losing the recreational seat as Roger Thomas is being termed out.
Things like saving our salmon season, expansion of our rock fishing season were accomplished by using our representatives on the council.
Your Coastside board has gotten Dan's name on the list with 4 others so it's up to you now to get his name out of the state and sent on to Washington DC.

Example: I am a concerned fisherman in California, and would like to see Mr. Dan Wolford appointed to the Pacific Fishery Management Council to replace Roger Thomas.

Just remember this is huge and I can't get it done without you, so don't leave it up to the other guy. I need your help with this one.
