Yeah, Baby! Finally splashed the new to me Wellcraft yesterday. Still working out a couple of minor bugs but she ran great... having been in storage for 10 years I was a bit apprehensive about what I might find. Not sure what she topped out at because I was too busy scanning the other vital signs as well as the 3 or 4 skiers on the creek when I was ripping across the water. Regardless, I am pleased with the performance and handling. So, King Neptune willing, the next time C_Spray calls my cell and says, "Hey, we're out here in Still Pond!" I'll be able to jump in the boat and cruise on out the the party. The house is finished and furnished and the boat is on the dock....Gonna be a good summer.

How about some photographic evidence of the new digs, this time with with boat activity included?

We pulled the boat this afternoon so I can get the bottom waxed and do a rebuild on the carb before the ethanol has a chance to screw it up. Also need to instally the brightwork I removed and refinished. I'll get the pics posted as soon as she's all together again.

Congrats Mikee! Pics would be nice when they are available. I made it down to Chesapeake City over the weekend.

There could be an appearance of the "Flying Sub-Zero" in Still Pond this weekend....

Chuck,
I have some maintenance to do on her (carb rebuild, ignition clean-up, wax the bottom)so she may not be in this weekend but I'm pretty certain that we can still hook up. I may be able to borrow a boat and I know that the "FSZ" can make it to our dock. You've got the number!!!

Mike,
No BS, you are truly an icon on never giving up and folding your tent. Following your posts and the bad stuff thrown at you, you always seem to get through it and come out better than before.

Wish you the best with the new boat and love your new home.

Walter

Walter,

Thank you for the kind words. I guess I just keep my attitude in the right place and tend to keep plowing on when others my choose not to do the heavy lifting.

I thought I noticed a wake on the Sass from your splash. :) Congrats and enjoy!

Mike,

We're re-splashing this weekend and putting the boat back together from the Bahamas trip (there's about 2 tons of salt we need to remove from things as well as getting the enclosure back up since we trailer her up and down I-95). However, we haven't been to Still Pond in quite some time, and I've still got Bosun. I think he needs some pictures in your new boat and on your front porch. Perhaps we'll make a trip to have that happen soon. How much water is there at your dock at low tide? I need 2 feet to float (otherwise, I still sit level :-) Then again, there's our dink...

Kurt,

Most days we have enough water to float you but, in an extremely low tide we can have less than 2 feet. We can stay in touch and let me know when you plan to make the visit... if not my dock we can use a neighbor's that has plenty of water.

Mike!!!! Long time...

You're not the only one that splashed. I am now back in the bay too.... Went the other way though.... Went up 11 foot in size...

As soon as she is seaworthy (still tinkering with stbd engine), You KNOW I am starting a "Flats" raft up thread...
