Was supposed to haul out today but the marina isn't ready yet so it looks like next week. While the boat is still in the water, is there anything I could/should do for winterization? Already added gas treatment before the last time I put gas in and I intend to pump out prior to haul out... anything else?

Twin merc 5.7L's Alpha 1 Gen 2 drives.

Thanks,

if the weather clears go for one more run ;-)

Hey Rick,
I would think you can do all your winterizing except the engines (if you have to motor to the haul-out)whilst still in the water. Plumbing, gathering soft goods to be removed etc.

Bill, the fridge had all beer removed from it last weekend.
Abalamuth, I believe I will.
CurrentSea, change it now, as opposed to in the spring? Why is that? I asked this question in another thread I started.. it seems in the spring is more desirable to get rid of any condensation, but everything I've read says prior to winterization.

Savasa, I've pulled a bunch out already... but I'm not at a slip, I'm tied between two poles so it's easier offloading once the boat is out of the water.

Got my answer on the oil change now... contaminates that cause corrosion while sitting all winter.

Winterize A/C and fresh water system.
Do maintenance on batteries and remove any electronics thatyou planon taking for safe keeping.
Clean and prep all areas to allow good air circulation.

winterize A/C, fresh water and sewage systems. If you have a genny, change the oil and winterize it. Run boat up to temp, change engine oil & filters. Thorough cleaning, mildew gas, damp-rid. Prop up cushions, air out compartments.

Even though you already emptied the fridge, use that as an excuse to visit the boat. Stop and have breakfast. Stop again on the way home for lunch. Make a day of it. I've done that before even when it's raining sideways. I walk down to the slip and say to myself "yep, that's a boat". It's still a good day. Any questions?
