I had#a 19 foot Wellcraft that hated to go onto the trailer straight. When I pulled it home (about a mile on a bumpy road, 30 mph) I would not strap it. The boat hopped around enough to straighten itself out.
Not sure if I would trust not strapping it down on a long haul.
I'm a trailer boater since 1997. Have you ever been driving behind the trailer boat without rear straps? Your bow strap and safety chain are not enough to keep your boat on the trailer. Strap it down please, it only take couples of minutes.
Ok ok, I will strap it down.... I should have bought a trailer with rollers instead of bunks tho, a Sea Ray and a Maxum don't sit the same way on this trailer... Thanks all for your responses!!
I already adjusted them for the Sea Ray, the two boats are that different. Had to find a happy compromise, had I gotten the roller type trailer it wouldn't have been an issue.
Does a boat trailer in NY need to have a brake system too ??
Towing a car ( flat ) behind a motorhome requires a auxiliary brake system with a break away switch also. They do check from time to time....when revenue is down.
