Thinking of stopping here for a night or two with my 7 year old son on our August boat trip. Anyone have any thoughts good or bad? Also how far is it from the Shinecock locks, hard to tell on the chart

Nice place to hang out but we stay at Mitchell Park because it's right in the middle of town.

40-50 minutes from the canal at 28 MPH

Jeff

Jeff, isn’t Mitchell Park Greenport I’ve stayed there before years ago

OOPS!!! I read that wrong.

Treasure Cove is only about 20-30 mins away from the canal (long 5mph zone) and is def a nice place to stay (we left the boat there for a month two years ago).

I am in Treasure Cove.
We love it.
Docked here for summer.
It is about 9 miles from the lock.
Easy run and no buoy issues until close.
All deep water.
The last mile of the 9 is 5mph zone, so really not that long. 10 minutes.

They have a pool, floating decks, paddleboards, kayaks.
Good restaurants.
Aquarium for kids.
Ice cream.

You will like it.
Greenport is a 1 hour run.
Shelter about 45 min.
Block is 2 hours
CT is easy run too

Actually it sucks.
Stay away.

It is full of liberals.
Water is smelly.
Dead fish.
Pool smells like pee
Traffic is horrendous getting there.
Town is full of deplorable and other bums.
Peconic is a sewer.

Less sewage then Zach’s bay? Cleaner tap water then Long Beach? Sounds like a horrible place
