Ut oh!

Yet it could be a simple/stupid as leaving out a drain plug?

They have marked the price down.....

Seriously, at a major boat show dock nobody notices bilge pumps running constantly?

I've never understood how someone's dick can be small enough to need 6 motors..... 2 for off shore safety but 6?????

It's a 52 footer. Many Cigs are outfitted for racing or fast poker runs. Would you say every Indy Car or Nascar driver has a small d!ck because of the amount of horsepower?
Man Rule #27: There is no such thing as too much horsepower. That rule falls right between Man Rule #26 (No such thing as too much bacon.), and Man Rule #28 (No such thing as having too much beer on hand in the beer fridge).

Could also be sabotage (plug removal late at night) by a competitor or just malicious vandals. It's highly unlikely that there was just some sort of random hull failure sitting at the dock in a marina. Could be a through-hull failure, which would be on Cigarette, but Cigarette is generally a higher end, quality boat.

Actually, the guys chasing tuna down here (upper gulf) are fishing the oil rigs well south of the alabama coast (100 miles is close). If you look at the map you'll see west toward South Louisiana (Venice) , east toward Florida, and north toward Al, MS,North FL are all situated where high speed big boats make the tuna fishing possible for a day trip. Personally I wish they did not have them as it's a lot of pressure on the fishery, but I understand the wanting to fish. Anyway, it's not always a ego thing.

Note: I heard the boat that sunk was out of Destin, FL. , don't know if that is a fact but it points to what I just posted.

I should note the tuna migrate with the bait, at certain times of the year the boats are headed towards the western gulf rigs off LA and TX. Speed helps...those charters are not cheap.

Bolded the important part. 😎

You can get a good deal.....Boat show price?

What a lot of folks miss is how shallow the upper gulf really is and how far one must travel to reach blue water. When your buddy calls and says he is on a hot bite and you're 50 miles away or even 10 miles a fast boat might get you on the bite before it ends, but a slow boat not so much.

I still like a couple of big blocks over a gang of outboards. The thunder at idle is too cool to give up.

In case that wasn't enough for you:

Opp's, moved post to proper thread. Senior moment...🤪

West of the Mississippi water in the Gulf is even more shallow near shore as a result of the 'mud' flow. The farther west, deeper water gets closer to shore. Lots of multi-outboard boats around here for the reasons Bill mentioned.

Years back we had a member here that ran trips out of, I think, New York in a Cigarette with 3/4 outboards for the same reasons. Get there fast and fish longer.

Hyperfishing?

I apologize for my ignorance but the boat in the picture does not look like a race caliber boat..... Again. I apologize for my ignorance.

Apples / Oranges

How else are you going to outrun the border patrol and coast guard? 😁

A lot of the poker runners are switching over the multi outboards. Check out recent videos of the Key West Poker Run (Miami to Key West) from the Florida Powerboat Club.
