Vacuflush bowl won't hold water

My toilet won't hold water for more than 30 mins or so. Sometime last year, I replaced the ball and seal for the same issue. It was better but it just doesn't seem to hold water consistently. How long should it hold water? Seems to be several weeks at a minimum from what I've read. Aside from this issue the system works great.

Could it be anything else? I've cleaned around the lip of the new seal more than once as well.

It should hold water forever... or at least months.

If you put a new seal, make sure it's seated properly and that it s clean

Follow the directions for cleaning the seal, you can just use your finger for that matter, this includes the surface that meets the ball, the bal itself (they can get a little build up on them) as well as the inside of the seal so something isn't deforming it being clogged in there. Then apply a smear of silicon grease to the seal. Seems like once a year or so I have to do this to one of the three heads on board, we use the boat year around and lived on it full time for several years. Six years never replaced a seal.

Thanks guys. I cleaned the seal again along with the ball. I also tightened the big clamp on the base which I read can also cause a problem. It held water for hours today, a definite improvement. Hopefully it'll still have water in the AM.

Also, after owning be boat for 5 years, I learned something in researching this issue. If you pull the lever UP it adds water to the bowl as long as you hold it. I never knew that so hopefully this helps someone else.

I put a little baby oil on mine once a year or so.

Some times we will take some white vinegar and add it to the water in the bowl after flushing clean water through without the pump turned on. Let is sit a while and then swish and flush.
