Vacuum Switch

Hey All, Slowly learning more about my vacuflush system. I'm noticing that it is running longer and longer when flushed. Water seems to be staying in bowl between flushes and I just replaced the duck bills at the end of last season. From what I have read it could be my vacuum switch? I believe it is original, it is a 99, 260 Sun D. and was new to me 3 seasons ago. My question is, how long should they last? And also how difficult are they to replace, I haven't attempted this at all yet and I couldn't find any good pictures of location/install.

Vacuum switch is very easy to replace, it just screws in.

We have a separate vacuum accumulator and tank. Some boats have the pump mounted on top of the square tank. If your switch is original it could be the source of the issue but it could also be a vacuum leak. If the pump does not cycle when left on and your duck bills are in good shape, it could be time to replace the switch. Expensive, like over 100 bucks for the whole switch assembly.

I'm no fan of VF systems, do many boaters love them, yes, do I? No, I take the less expensive highly reliable Marine Elegance made by Raritan any day. I have owned both new out of the box. There is no comparison. The VF is more expensive and after 1 year with a new VF certified system I dumped it for the ME. I have had the ME since it was first introduced to the public and haven't had to do anything to it and it never clogs or cycles.

Hey Thanks again guys, went easy, seemed to solve my problem, the old one definitly looked worn/original (15 yrs. old)the only hard part of that project was the BILL, ouch, $120.00 with shipping. Hopefully it is "the 13 yr. switch". Thanks again for all the quick & helpful responses!!
