but with a Jabsco manual.
Is there a place I can find a schematic so I can safely, and with the least mess for a newbie, figure this out?
I had pumped out and on the first (actually 2nd use, though I don't think anything got lushed that shouldn't have) it splashed back. I don't think it's a vacuum issue as I "uncorked" it afterward and the problem "remains" ...for lack of a better term.
thank you

Did you check to make sure the vent line is not clogged?

Thanks Mike,
I'm not sure about the vent line-- my ignorance of the system is one of the reasons I'd like to find an illustration of the mechanics of it all. Wish this had been on my winter reading list.

With a Jabsco manual, the problem could very well be the head - here's the tech sheet on the latest version, yours will be similar but not exactly the same.

In the past Jabsco has had ongoing problems with the flapper valve at the top, for the Flush/Dry selector, causing it to be difficult to pump. Try calling Mike Irving at Jabsco Tech Support (978) 282-5227 - he's a nice guy, and you may be able to sweet-talk him into sending you a free replacement part.
