Got to the marina this morning and they were attempting to pump out (re-float) a Chaparral Villain III on red dock. Apparently the rain must have gotten the better of the bilge pump and even though the cockpit cover was on, just the bow was protruding from the water. They did get it pumped out to the point that it was re-floated and the work boat was able to tow it over to the service docks. I believe this model is from the late eighties or very early nineties. I think it's probably totaled now. Too bad.

They were nice boats I believe you are dead on about the age. I had a signature 30 1990 very similar boats but mine was not as high performance of a model. I loved the boat and would have been heart broken to find it in that condition. I hope he was well insured.

I meant to do that. It's been a crazy week. I do however have a live aboard on our dock who keeps an eye on all the boats.
One good thing about my slip is if I did sink no one would notice it doesn't have too far to go down
There was an older Chap that sunk four slips away from me this season...28 foot, older boat. I heard that an exhaust plug from a modification let go. It was like watching an execution. It took SeaTow about 4 hours to raise it and get it to the service slip.
