i have a convertion head from a hand pump one to electric flush, i am in fresh water my holdind tank is empty ans when i hold the button in to flush the toilet it just goes around and around like a whirlpool , tyhe water it does not over flow but there is allways standing water in bowlif it sits over night it is gone

Use the "rinse button"?

ie: when you want incoming water, use the rinse button/switch/lever, when you want to fully empty the bowl, do not use the button/switch/lever.

At least, that is how every head I have used worked. Yours, of course, mat be different.

thanks for the imput but i have only one button thats the way it was made it is supposed to do both

Barry, any chance of coming up with the make and model of the conversion unit? Without that, it's kind of hard to discuss your problem. I need to know what it is and how it works before I can offer any suggestions.

the unit is a Jabsco electric head converion kit model # is 3600525 from west marine
Jabc # is 37010-0092. it use to work fine the moter in it is ok and the switch is fine it just will not do a complete flush as i said in the orig. any help would be appr.

all im supposed to do is hold button in untill flushed use to be like 10 seconds. but now fills up with water and goes around and around but does not over flow .it just leaves to much water in it .if someone was to sit right after flush they would get there but wet . no joke just sounds funny

wannasail,

Is the head mounted below water line? Could it be the discharge line is too small to handle the volume of water being added to the bowl by the new pump? Did the discharge hose get mashed or bent during the conversion? Could something be plugging the joker valves or lines? Just thoughts on a few things to check.

If the motor is running and water is coming in, I'm going to guess you have a simple clog... Let it drain over night and then remove the hose fitting at the bottom of the toilet, and see if it's clear and if the pump is clear. Pour a pint or so of water into the toilet; it should drain right through; if not you have something in the pump.

If that doesn't do it I think you'll have to start taking things apart. Where you start depends on what you found (or didn't find) above.

it is above water line and the line was allright last year. one thing i did this year was to add a filter to help with the oder it goes on the vent line had to add more line to it to make it fit right .it worked all right for a couple of weeks then started up.it is a about a 2" tube filled with charcoal took it off and looked at it and it seemed fine .allso left it off for acouple of flushes and it still did not go down right.

Be sure the entire vent line from the holding tank is clear, particularly where it exits the boat and where it connects to the tank. If the air that is inside the tank can't get out as the tank fills, the tank will pressurize and the toilet's flushing efficiency will fall way off.

WannaSail,

I've owned a couple of Bayliners in the past, and both had a deck pumpout that went directly to the holding tank (i.e. no "Y" valve).

If I ever suspected a blocked vent line, I would simply open the Deck Pumpout Plug and flush the head. If bowl emptying was better, than I knew I had a venting issue. (in my cases the carbon filter had got wet)

Are your batteries fully charged?

I have a similar unit and notice the same thing when the battery voltage is a bit low. My theory is that the discharge pump is more sensitive to running slowly (when the battery is a bit low) then the supply pump. Every time I have noticed this the problem goes away as soon as the battery voltage is higher.
