I had Dean do some work on the boat. I haven't seen the results yet. Ill touch base later on tonight, to see if he lives up to Robs comments!

He called me earlier saying the boat was ready. Its hard working and thinking about how the boat came back. If I wasn't under contract I would have skipped out of work.

I cannot get over the work Dean and his crew did. I had a red stripe all the way around the hull. He wet sanded and wet sanded and got it a NEW boat shine on it. We are talking 15 years of not taking care of the red stripe. I cannot get over the work he did
 
I wish they could get into AYC.

Unless Waves and Wheels did something to piss the board off at the AYC, I would think it is the insurance requirement that is the problem. A few years back, I remember an issue with a vendor that wanted to work in the AYC, but did not have the "additional" million or two dollar floater they require all vendors to have. I thought at the time, their insurance requirements were a bit high, but in retrospect, I get it now. Specifically, if while shrink wrapping a boat, it was to catch on fire.
In my business, to do work in buildings that are managed by an outside management company, I too need a crazy amount of insurance. In my case, the floater I needed almost doubled my annual premium, which stinks because I had to get it and the fact in 30 plus years in business, I never had a claim :(

Since Victor and Jose, have the lions share of work at the AYC, it might not be cost effective for Dean to work there. Add to that the travel time for just a few people that want his services.

Waves does work Everywhere. They are in the Javits center for the boat show. So insurance isn't the issue . Travel and down time for sure may be a factor .

Last time I spoke to him about doing my boat, he said he would call back and never did.
When I followed up it seemed like he didn't want the job, so I dropped it.
Maybe times have changed as that was a about 5 years or more ago.
For me it's about timing as I don't like to wax too early and I can't delay launch date.
Victor and Jose do work with you since they are in AYC and do all the work.

I have to admit, last year Victor did an amazing job making my boat shine. Gonna do the same this year.
