Hey FYI, I go in the water allot near Bamboo Island, the Amity cut, and I developed 'tinea versicolor' I thought it was 'Vitiligo' at first which would be bad, the dermatologist says it's from allowing your skin to air dry, but I'm suspecting the sewer district proximity to where I swim. Is GSB so polluted?

It's a fungal infection of the skin, and the fungus is a "normal" resident on human skin. Why some develop skin lesions and some don't isn't very well understood.

Do you think it has anything to do with the South West sewer district close by?

I doubt it. Do you see similar skin lesions on others that swim there? The fungal infection itself isn't hard to treat, but could take months for melanocytes in your skin to start working and making pigment again. Do you work out at a public gym? I remember reading that is a. Common source.

No, haven't gone to the gym since Ballys terminated my so-called life membership. I have been working on my house alot, sweating profusely.. I need to remember to dry off when I get off the boat, and maybe use the boat shower...
