Got out on the water today enjoyed the nice weather had our first raft up of the season but there was nobody on the water!

I hope more of you get the show on the road the season is now!

Took the maiden voyage of the season. The water was perfect no junk in the water and managed not to hit any icebergs. Hey Mike, I see we picked up someone from your place. What's that about?

Dave, how could you raft up if no one was out?

Dave
Everybody was out fishing for stripers around Croton Point. A lot of boats anchored out in the middle, outside the channel. We are having a real good run this year. They are almost jumping in the boat. I also notice many boats are not uncovered yet. I think a lot of them aren't going in this year.

Did you get the GPS numbers for the outer end of the SPBM channel I posted?

Good point but aside for the two boats I was rafted with there were maybe 2 or 3 other boats. Earlier in the day there was a bunch of boats fishing but they had mostly all moved on by the time I was returning home.

A guy fishing on the shore by Haverstraw Marina parking lot caught a big stiper Thursday evening....he said it was 30 pounds. I don't know what the average is but that was a big fish!

We were out drowning worms on Sunday at Tellers Point. IT was real Hit-or-miss, as a boat only 60yds away was averaging 1 hit every 30 min (keeper size, though he's a catch 'n release guy), and all we did was two 10-inchers, and one eel. . ... yuck.

Seems fresh bunker is the bait of choice, not bloods.

The guy next to me went out fishing on Saturday near the throgsneck bridge and they came back with at least a dozen HUGE stripers. I didn't ask the weight but they were all close to/over what looked like 3 feet long. They were happy as hell!

Yea, the one in Haverstraw looked like it was about 3 feet or so long.

Warren caught two good-sized ones on Saturday, just off Potato Rock.

We finally launched Saturday night. Big thanks to Mike for launching her. Ran her for about 5-8 min at full throttle hitting 2670-2680. Props were dialed in just right, Thanks Chuck, you did it again. Boat is running nice.

Heading up to the boat in a couple of hours to enjoy this beautiful day, looks like the weekend is a rain-out...

I'm hoping to get up there this afternoon and all day tomorrow but Sunday looks like a bust!
