Seems like we may get a visit from this ugly cousin - I am thinking of running up the river. Are any of you thinking of running from the storm? And where would you go if you do?

Keeping an eye on the track. Right now, it looks like we should be fine right where we are.

You probably are - Englewood is NOT a good storm marina - so I have to think about running.

Liberty Landing has floating docks, still not sure if it will be safe there or not.

If the wind is from the North East it will be tough, Stony Point bay will get hammered bad if it is.

Judy - I will be running waaay past Stony Pt.

A trip up the locks looks good!

Nah, you shouldn't need to go that far. Isn't Haverstraw well protected?

There's always Kingston I guess. But just keep in mind if it hooks in and we get all the rain the creek and river will be a MESS!

I figure to stay right where she is. Will ride the storm out on board as long as I dont get stuck at work...

It now looks like it will not travel as west as first thought. It will be closer to NC than and take a sharp turn east from there. All the commercial fishing vessels are already running in. I am no weather man, but if you ask me, looks like a great opportunity for a B-Dock CLAM BAKE. But lets just keep that a secret between us, we don't want the other raft up to know about it

We either put them up on the hard, high up, or run up North of the Saltwater Barrier.
However, up North of the barrier, we have to watch out for trees. Freshwater areas
around her have so many trees. They can damage the boat if they fall or be sure the
trees you tie off to are solid and high up on land. Trees close to the edge of the
water line can fall easier than trees farther inland.
Floating docks are good, if they don't rise up above the tops of the pilings. Or if
they don't have wooden pilings. Be sure to tie every cleat on the boat to every cleat
on the docks. You can't have too many lines.
And remove all loose objects, all electronics, important documents, valuables and all canvas.
Leave the canvas on and you might not have any left when you get back.
Be sure all your batteries are charged good and all bilge pumps work good. Keep any
12 vdc equip. that is not needed turned off so to not run the batteries down if elect.
gets knocked out.
Check openings to make sure they are watertight so no rain water can get into the bilge.
Shut off fuel valves and thru hull valves. Use chafe protection on all lines where they
rub on the hull.
Video or take pictures of everything so if there is any damage or sinking, you have proof
of what was in or on the boat and also what you did to prevent damage. Insurance is some
times a beetch to deal with.
If you are not at a floating dock, tie the lines
up high on the pilings, lots of lines and leave
plenty of slack but not enough for the boat to
hit the pilings.

Ohhh D dock might have to invade on the clam bake.. Hey fellas....
