Some really wicked storms moving through Northern Jersey right now heading straight to the Haverstraw area if they continue moving in the same direction.
Nasty in Bergen County! Lost major limbs from a big old beech tree on the front lawn. Watched the storm on radar...one eye on Bergenfield, the other on Stony Point.
Chain saw tomorrow before work.
Hogan , you must live near pearl river , just called mom to check in on her ,she said it wasn't that bad there either . calmed down up here now ,but boy was it wicked for an hour or so, hope everyone has power .
We had a decent light show here in Putnam County and some wind, but the rain was fairly light and it was nothing like what you folks experienced...
I saw the bow echo on the radar loop - that is generally associated with a big downdraft, which means straight line winds and potential for damage. You can almost sense it going "whoosh" and fanning out as you watch the image progress on the radar screen...
We pretty much skated on the deal. But I left early to get there and button things down. To the north and south the light shows were spectacular. There are some trees down and other damage in Poughkeepsie area.
Nanuet, small world ain't it. Were neighbors on land and water
Glad to hear you " skated " on the stom Dan , there were alot of tree branches & a pole down on the way to work this morning in cornwall.
