I know this question has come up before, but I'm really stupid with the technology. I have Optimum at my shop which gives me Optimum WiFi at the boat. I have a really crummy external antenna that plugs into a USB port that is ineffective. I need a much better antenna that will pick up Optimum and plugs into a wireless router. In layman's terms what do you guys use for an antenna and router?
Thanks,

Billy K.

Thanks Mike,
Does the antenna come with the router or is that a separate item.

Others have used ubiquity but I have the Rogue. You plug an rj45 (cat5) cable from antenna to input of router which acts as a hot spot.

I have ubiqutiy with a comrod with a dlink router.
Walter has the rogue.
Rogue software is better but its 4 times the cost.

I'm on my second Rogue and I would buy another if and when the time comes. I got many years out of the first one but it was to old to be able to update so I bought a new model and it works great!
